A wonderful real Mexican restaurant. Sorry photos on another device. You won't be sorry, everything was excellent. Service included. Inside and outside seating.Addictive house made chips and salsa.Perfect rice & beans. The molcajeta mixti was the star. Enough for three or four.the chorizo was from the big beautiful vat of meat in the kitchen. The shrimp were big and juicy. Normally I am disappointed by over-cooked shrimp, not here.Worth a trip to Sante Rosa for everyone living east of Denver.

The only word I can think of is WOW!I was on my back from the coast with Tony Ballzoni the king of little Italy, where we got our limits of crab and rock fish. I had planned on stopping at a burger joint I like on 4th street but Tony wanted to go to Taqueria Molcajetes, so off we went. What a great decision! I had probably the best pork enchilada I've ever had, it was amazing! 5 stars

It's not going to get a Michelin star next week (nothing fancy here), but it's the best damn birria de res I've ever had. Outstanding salsas, friendly service, and delicious handmade tortillas. See you again soon!

Came here to fill up before a long road trip back home. The carne asada burrito was rolled tightly and weighed about a pound. Free chips and a salsa bar. The salsa bar was like a playground for your taste buds, with an assortment of salsas ranging from mild to "holy guacamole, my mouth is on fire!" Each salsa is like a little adventure in a spoonful, and you'll find yourself going back for more, even if your taste buds are begging for mercy.

Having eaten the delicious authentic Mexican food here, I’m going to immediately reduce the rating for every Mexican restaurant in my hometown of Pittsburgh by two stars. Everything is bursting with flavor - even the refried beans are tasty! Where have you been all my life?!

As a self-proclaimed Molcajete connoisseur, I had to try this place. It's in the name! I've had them in many different cities/states and love testing out the differences.I ordered the Molcajete Mixto (32)here. First off, the salsa bar here is fun, lots of different homemade sauces. The molcajete comes with homemade tortilla, a side of rice, beans, guac and shredded lettuce.Okay back to the molcajete. There is so much meat! I've never seen so much meat in a molcajete. 6 pieces of shrimp that's perfectly cooked (other places have dinky shrimp that's overcooked), chorizo, chicken, Carne asada, 2 big chunks of questions with nice charring, a jalepeno, etc. The sauce is also scrumptious too, which is very important. The service is friendly here! They also serve you at your table with a menu and bring you the food. Not full on attentiveness but it's good service for a taqueria. The molcajete probably serves 2-4 people, but I got it for myself. Why deprive myself of leftovers? :)I do wish they ventilated more though. If you have a jacket, leave it in the car. It's pretty smoky!

We saw this place on Guy Fieri's DDD and were so intrigued we had to try it. It's an unassuming place in a little strip mall, sitting next to a Safeway. It was fairly quiet when we went in, a few of the cafe tables occupied. We ordered the Molcajete Mixta, which as advertised on DDD was loaded with meat, easily enough for 4-6 people. The molcajete was so hot, the sauce was bubbling around the chicken, beef, chorizo, shrimp, cheese, jalapeno and nopal. And it continued to bubble for most of the meal. It was served with six homemade tortillas that were just beautiful. All the meat was so tender, the shrimp were perfectly crisp and plump and juicy, the chorizo (made in house) was so savory and delicious. The sauce was incredible, but not spicy enough. I don't think they trusted us to eat spicy food - until she saw me chow down on the jalapeno and add extra hot sauce. We also orded two tacos: one crispy, one not; filled with their al pastor. Perfection.
